Delete from inside the app (preferred)
- Open the Step.co app.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
After confirmation, your account enters deletion. We permanently remove personal data from active systems within 30 days. Some records may be retained as required for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance (see below).
Can’t access the app?
Request deletion by email:
- Email: info@step.co
- Subject line: Data Deletion Request
- Include: the email/phone on your Step.co account and “I request deletion of my Step.co account and personal data.”
For security, we may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing.
What is deleted
- Profile info (name, handle, photo), login identifiers, preferences
- Activity history tied to your identity (class enrollments, progress, chats)
- Uploaded personal content not needed for legal/accounting purposes
What may be retained (limited)
- Payment and payout records required for tax/accounting laws
- Fraud/security logs and audit entries as permitted by law
- Aggregated/anonymized analytics that cannot identify you
Timeline
- Immediate: account locked and queued for deletion
- Within 30 days: removal from active systems and backups on their normal rotation cycle
